The tragic death of a 26-year-old police officer and US Army reservist after undergoing Brazilian Butt Lift surgery in Miami has shocked many. Wildelis Rosa passed away on March 23, following complications from the cosmetic procedure, as reported by NBC6 South Florida.

Wildelis Rosa, a dedicated officer, had travelled to Miami to undergo the popular surgery while also celebrating her 26th birthday. The Cleveland Clinic explains that a Brazilian Butt Lift involves transferring fat from other areas of the body to enhance the size of the buttocks.

Upon her arrival in South Florida on March 18, Rosa underwent pre-operative blood work the next day at the Prestige Plastic Surgery Clinic. The procedure, which cost Rosa $7,495, involved fat being injected from 12 areas of her body into her buttocks.
Tragically, Rosa’s sister, Anamin Vazquez, expressed immediate concern after learning about the surgery. Vazquez revealed that her sister had complained of extreme pain post-surgery and was discharged from the hospital just one hour after the procedure, despite expressing complications.
The devastating news of Rosa’s passing came on March 23 when she collapsed in the bathroom and was found unresponsive by a friend. Despite efforts to revive her, Rosa succumbed to a pulmonary embolism caused by blood clots associated with the surgery, as determined by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office.
Reflecting on her sister’s life, Vazquez shared that Rosa had recently returned from a deployment to Kuwait as a US Army Reservist and had aspirations to work for the FBI. Rosa’s sudden death has left her family reeling, with Vazquez emphasising the need for caution when considering cosmetic surgeries.
The New Orleans Police Department mourned the loss of Officer Rosa, describing her as a cherished member of their community. They praised her integrity, compassion, and dedication to serving the people of New Orleans. Former teacher, Roger, remembered Rosa as one of the kindest individuals he had ever known.
As questions surround the circumstances leading to Rosa’s untimely death, both the Prestige Plastic Surgery Clinic and the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office have been contacted for comment. The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with cosmetic procedures, urging individuals to approach such surgeries with caution.
The story of Wildelis Rosa’s passing highlights the importance of prioritising health and safety above cosmetic enhancements. As investigations continue into the events surrounding her death, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
