A woman has gone missing in England almost 15 years ago, and now human remains have been unearthed and four individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. İzabela Zablocka, a 30-year-old woman, disappeared in 2010, but the Derbyshire Police only recently became aware of her disappearance. In a statement released by the Derbyshire Police on June 2, it was revealed that human remains were discovered at an address on Princes Street, where Zablocka lived at the time of her disappearance. Subsequent to this discovery, a 39-year-old woman who was previously taken into custody on suspicion of murder was re-arrested on Monday. Additionally, two women aged 39 and 43, as well as a 41-year-old man, were also arrested during the investigation over the past week. Those arrested in the recent week are currently on bail as further investigations are conducted.
Detective Inspector Kane Martin, the lead investigator in the case, expressed, “Izabela’s family are at the forefront of our minds following this discovery and, whilst formal identification has not yet taken place, it is our belief that these remains do belong to Izabela.” Martin added that efforts are underway to involve Zablocka’s family in Poland, keeping them informed about the latest developments. Identification of the remains is anticipated to be a prolonged process, and updates will be shared as soon as possible.
Martin urged anyone with information about Zablocka’s whereabouts in July or August 2010 to come forward, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in shedding light on the circumstances surrounding her disappearance. Crimestoppers, an independent charity in the UK, is offering a reward of £20,000 (approximately $27,000) for any information that leads to a conviction in the case of Izabela.
