Ariel Winter Shares Insights on Watching Modern Family Reruns

Former child star Ariel Winter, well-known for her role as Alex Dunphy in the hit ABC sitcom Modern Family, recently opened up about her viewing habits when it comes to the show’s reruns. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Winter revealed that she tends to gravitate towards crime documentaries and procedural shows rather than watching herself on screen. Despite this, Winter expressed her fondness for her time working on Modern Family, which aired from 2009 to 2020.
Reflecting on her early days on the show, Winter shared, “I was 11 when it started, and I don’t think I had any idea of whether it was going to be successful or not. I was just like, ‘Oh, awesome, I got a job.'” She also fondly recalled her excitement at the opportunity to work with Ed O’Neill, who played her grandfather on the show. Describing her personal connection to the issue, Winter shared, “I was just like, ‘God, I’d love to be a part of that.’ It just impacted me so deeply because I’d been that kid who’d been preyed upon online so many times.” By leveraging her platform and experiences, Winter aims to raise awareness and empower others to protect themselves from online threats.
