Lord Buffalo Cancels European Tour After Mexican Drummer Allegedly Removed from Flight

Texas-based band, Lord Buffalo, has made the tough decision to cancel their upcoming European tour following an incident involving their Mexican drummer, Yamal Said. The band claims that Said was “forcibly removed” from a flight at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, leading to the cancellation of their tour.

In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, Lord Buffalo expressed their sadness over having to cancel the much-anticipated tour. They revealed that Said, who is a Mexican citizen and a lawful permanent resident of the United States, was taken off their flight by Customs and Border Patrol just before they were set to kick off the tour in Heerlen, Netherlands on May 15.

According to the band, they were unable to reach Said as he had not been released at that time. They are currently working with an immigration lawyer to understand the situation better and secure Said’s release. The remaining members of the band are focusing all their efforts on ensuring Said’s safety and freedom during this challenging time.

While the cancellation of the tour has left the band devastated, they remain hopeful that they may reschedule the tour in the future once the situation is resolved. Lord Buffalo reassured fans that their tourmates, Orsak:Oslo, will still be performing the scheduled shows as planned.

Following media coverage of the incident, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a statement on social media clarifying that Said, a Mexican national and lawful U.S. permanent resident, had a warrant for his arrest for violating a restraining order multiple times. The department confirmed that Said was apprehended by CBP and handed over to local law enforcement as he tried to leave the U.S.

In response to the situation, Lord Buffalo thanked fans for their support and revealed that Said has secured legal representation. The band acknowledged that they have more questions than answers at this point but promised to keep their followers updated on any developments.
