Dominique Goods-Burke tragically passed away on April 27th, succumbing to injuries sustained in a plane crash near Roosevelt Mall on January 31st. The devastating crash, which resulted in the deaths of seven others, including six individuals bound for Mexico, occurred when a Learjet 55 departed from Northeast Philadelphia Airport.
Goods-Burke, who had been receiving treatment at the hospital since the crash, was on her way to the mall’s Macy’s store when the accident occurred. Travelling in a car with her family, their vehicle caught fire upon impact with the crashing jet. Described as a devoted mother and partner, a fundraising page was set up on GoFundMe to support her extensive medical care.
Working as the day bake supervisor at High Point Café in Philadelphia, Goods-Burke was remembered by colleagues as a fighter. Her battle over the three-month period following the crash was described as courageous and relentless. The café staff expressed their deep sorrow at her passing and highlighted her kind nature and loving spirit in a tribute on Facebook.
The aftermath of the tragedy also affected Goods-Burke’s fiancé, Steven Dreuitt, who was confirmed dead in the crash along with their son. Dreuitt, found deceased inside the vehicle, was identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office for the City of Philadelphia.
