Sheriff’s Deputy’s Stepson and Shooting Suspect

Interestingly, Ikner is identified as the stepson of a sheriff’s deputy in Leon County, who has served in law enforcement for two decades. During a press conference following the shooting, Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil disclosed that Ikner was deeply connected to the law enforcement community, having participated in training programs organized by the sheriff’s office.
