By November 2022, she was declared cancer-free, leading to breast reconstruction surgery two years later.
In a heartfelt message to her followers, Shearer revealed the need for a ninth surgery, explaining, “As you guys know, my right breast has been giving me issues and complications this entire time, and it’s finally reached kind of its limit.” She went on to describe how her incision had been leaking heavily, prompting her doctor to advise immediate surgery to remove the implant entirely.
The emotional toll of this unexpected turn in her journey was evident in Shearer’s voice as she shared, “This is absolutely not what I wanted, and it basically puts me back into April 2022, right after my double mastectomy.” She expressed her disappointment at the unforeseen setback that would lead to a single mastectomy on one side, leaving her completely flat.
Looking ahead, Shearer expressed hope that a future surgery – the Latissimus dorsi flap procedure scheduled for November – would put an end to the challenging complications she has faced. This complex procedure involves transferring skin, fat, and muscle from the back to the chest, offering a potential solution to the issues she has encountered.
