Jordon Hudson, the partner of UNC football team’s head coach Bill Belichick, has reportedly requested the University of North Carolina to filter out any negative comments regarding Belichick on their social media pages. According to The Athletic, Hudson expressed concerns about potentially ‘slanderous’ comments being made about Belichick, leading her to ask UNC to monitor and delete such remarks.
The development came after Belichick had asked a university employee to include Hudson in some of his emails back in March. Following this, The Athletic obtained copies of the emails through an open records request, shedding light on Hudson’s actions in relation to safeguarding Belichick’s reputation at UNC.

Hudson, a former collegiate cheerleader, reportedly emailed UNC on February 13, inquiring if there was a system in place to monitor the football program’s social media accounts for any ‘slanderous commentary’ directed towards Belichick, who is 72 years old. She also suggested that any harassing users should be blocked from the pages.
UNC employee Robbi Pickeral Evans assured Belichick and Hudson that inappropriate comments had been hidden or erased by the social media team, with a promise to continue monitoring the posts. Despite the concern raised by Hudson, UNC did not find instances of comments labelling Belichick as a ‘predator’, as per The Athletic’s reports.
In response to Hudson’s email, Belichick expressed disbelief at being referred to as a ‘predator’ and questioned UNC’s stance on such derogatory language. Evans reassured Belichick that the university would never endorse or support such comments about him. This incident highlights the complexities that can arise when personal relationships intersect with professional roles.
Apart from addressing social media concerns, Hudson also filed 14 trademark requests on behalf of Belichick to secure his signature phrases, currently held by Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots. The unique touch added to Belichick’s phrases will be marked as ‘(Bill’s Version)’, akin to how music artist Taylor Swift has re-released her albums.
Hudson’s proactive steps to protect Belichick’s image at UNC underscore the growing significance of managing online reputation in the digital age. The couple’s dynamic in navigating public perception while balancing personal and professional boundaries offers an intriguing insight into the intricacies of sports and relationships at a high-profile university like UNC.
As the story unfolds, it prompts a reflection on the evolving landscape of sports figures in the public eye and the measures taken to preserve their reputations both on and off the field. The intersection of personal relationships and professional responsibilities adds layers of complexity to the narrative, raising questions about privacy, image management, and the influence of social media in the realm of sports.
In a world where the lines between private and public life are increasingly blurred, the actions of individuals like Hudson and Belichick serve as a case study in navigating the challenges of maintaining a positive public image while upholding personal connections.
