Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande have hinted at a lighter touch on the emotional front during the upcoming press tour for ‘Wicked: For Good’. The duo, who star in the highly anticipated sequel to 2024’s ‘Wicked: Part One’, shared a sneak peek of the movie at CinemaCon in Las Vegas alongside director Jon M. Chu and producer Marc Platt, ahead of its theatrical release on Nov. 21.

“We already have our tissues packed,” joked Grande as they discussed the impending promotional tour for the movie. Erivo, 38, and Grande, 31, took to the stage at CinemaCon 2025 on April 2 to present new footage from the upcoming sequel. During their presentation, the actresses playfully acknowledged the emotional moments from their previous press tour and teased about keeping the tears in check this time around.
“We can’t wait to hit the road again,” Erivo quipped. Grande added, “And I promise less waterworks this time, but I’m not sure we can live up to that.” The banter continued as they both acknowledged the emotional impact the first movie had on audiences, sharing a light-hearted moment with the audience.
The presentation also included a glimpse of Dorothy in the movie and scenes showcasing the iconic yellow brick road leading to Emerald City, reminiscent of 1939’s ‘The Wizard of Oz’. The teaser featured snippets of Erivo’s character Elphaba performing “No Good Deed” and Grande’s Glinda singing “For Good”, culminating with Elphaba declaring, “I’m off to see the wizard.”
Director Jon M. Chu shed some light on the sequel during the presentation, mentioning how the characters, especially Glinda and Elphaba, would be grappling with the consequences of their actions from the first movie. Grande added a note on Glinda’s character development, while Erivo hinted at Elphaba’s journey in using her powers for the greater good from exile.
