Belgium-born actor and martial artist, Jean-Claude Van Damme, has found himself at the center of criminal allegations concerning his purported involvement in sexual relations with women who were victims of trafficking. The accusations have originated from Romania, where a criminal complaint has been lodged against Van Damme with the Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).
According to reports from CNN affiliate Antena 3, the 64-year-old star has been accused of knowingly engaging in sexual activities with women who were trafficked by a criminal group led by Morel Bolea. The incident is said to have taken place in Cannes, with claims that Van Damme received five Romanian women as a “gift,” being fully aware that they were under the control of a human trafficking syndicate.
Legal representative Adrian Cuculis, acting on behalf of one of the victims, stated that the women were in a vulnerable situation, suggesting that they may have been exploited in accordance with the criminal laws in Romania. Despite these serious allegations, neither Van Damme’s representatives nor the DIICOT have responded to requests for comments on the matter.
The revelation of this scandalous incident was reportedly brought to light by a witness who observed the events that transpired at an event organized by Van Damme in Cannes. Subsequently, this led to the initiation of a criminal investigation by the DIICOT to probe into the allegations presented against the renowned actor.
