**’Stranded’ Astronauts Return to Earth After 9 Months in Space**

After an eventful nine months in space, NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams have successfully returned to Earth. On Tuesday, March 18, the pair began their journey back home alongside fellow NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov. The astronauts, known as SpaceX Crew-9, made a safe splashdown shortly before 6:00 p.m. local time off the coast of Florida. The journey back to Earth started when the astronauts undocked from the International Space Station at 1:05 a.m. ET.
