The lovebirds first made their relationship public in September 2024, during a visit to the Minnesota State Fair, where they shared a series of adorable photos. Schwartz captioned the carousel of pictures with a light-hearted reference to their experience at the fair. Prior to his relationship with Schwartz, Lovett was engaged to journalist Ronan Farrow from 2011 to 2023. The engagement took place in 2019 when Farrow included a proposal in a draft of his book, Catch and Kill. Unfortunately, Lovett announced their separation in a March 2023 episode of his podcast, Lovett or Leave It.

Crooked Media, which Lovett co-founded in 2017 along with former Obama administration colleagues Jon Favreau and Tommy Vietor, has been a significant part of both Lovett’s and Schwartz’s professional lives. Schwartz joined the company in 2021 as a programming & production coordinator and has since risen through the ranks to become the chief of staff in April 2023. Before working at Crooked Media, Schwartz was involved in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional campaign.

Following the announcement of their engagement, well wishes poured in from friends and colleagues, including a congratulatory message from New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Instagram. The couple also received warm messages from Monica Lewinsky, Chris Hayes, Adam Rippon, Ira Madison, Josh Gad, Zeke Smith, and several others in the entertainment and media industry.
The news of Lovett and Schwartz’s engagement adds to a string of recent announcements from other celebrities, including DK Metcalf, Pat Benatar’s daughter Hana Giraldo, and Love Is Blind’s AD Smith and Ollie Sutherland, who have all recently announced their engagements. This trend of high-profile engagements reflects a wave of love and celebration in the entertainment world, bringing joy and excitement to fans and followers alike.
As Lovett and Schwartz embark on this new chapter in their relationship, their engagement serves as a reminder of the power of love and connection in a fast-paced and often chaotic world. Their public announcement not only showcases their commitment to each other but also inspires others to cherish and celebrate the bonds that bring joy, support, and meaning to our lives. With their engagement, Lovett and Schwartz have shared a poignant moment of happiness and togetherness with their followers, inviting everyone to share in their love story.
