Tahj Mowry Reflects on How Having Twin Sisters Helped Him Navigate Working with the Olsens on ‘Full House’

During a lively discussion on the ‘How Rude, Tanneritos!’ podcast with Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, Tahj reminisced about his time on the show, which began when he was just 5 years old in 1991. While some might have found the concept confusing, Tahj revealed that his personal experience with his twin sisters made it easier for him to grasp the situation. “Obviously, my sisters are twins, so in that aspect, I was like, ‘Oh, okay. Yeah. That makes sense. There’s two of them. They split the work,’” he shared. “I understood that. I was never like, ‘Huh?’”
Growing up with Tia and Tamera, who also ventured into acting early in their careers with the sitcom ‘Sister, Sister’, Tahj found it natural to work alongside two different actors in the same role. He noted that having twin siblings at home provided him with a unique perspective that enhanced his on-screen interactions with the Olsen twins.
Reflecting on the camaraderie he developed with Mary-Kate and Ashley, Tahj highlighted the fun he had working with them. “When you’re watching the show, Teddy has one scene partner: Michelle. But in real life, I got to have two scene partners, and they were, you know, they’re two different people, so we had different relationships,” he explained.
