A JetBlue pilot, Jeremy Gudorf, was arrested at Boston’s Logan International Airport just before his flight to Paris on a Thursday in February. The arrest was made after officials found an active warrant for his arrest in North Carolina. Gudorf, 33, from Ohio, was taken into custody by Massachusetts State Police following a review of the flight’s manifest by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The warrant against him was related to a charge of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor in North Carolina.

During Gudorf’s arraignment in East Boston District Court, prosecutors revealed the details of the charges against him. Apart from the North Carolina warrant, he was also charged as a fugitive from justice in Massachusetts. The prosecution requested that Gudorf be held without bail and surrender his passport to prevent him from fleeing. His defence lawyer maintained that he had the means to travel to North Carolina as required and highlighted his lack of prior criminal history.
Despite the defense’s assurances, the judge decided to set bail at $10,000 and ordered Gudorf to return to North Carolina by a specified date. A court date in Massachusetts was scheduled, but it would be waived if he resolved the warrant in North Carolina. The specifics of the case in North Carolina were not discussed during the court proceedings, although it was revealed that the arrest warrant originated from Huntersville, where Gudorf had lived previously.
