In a heartfelt caption, Shane expressed, “For many years, I was so ashamed of my disabled physique that I pretty much flat out refused to ever let anyone see me outside of the obscuring comfort of my wheelchair. In the last ten years or so, though, I’ve grown to love my body.” He credited this shift in attitude to Hannah’s unwavering love and acceptance, as well as his personal growth in embracing his disability identity.
