Jasmin Savoy Brown, known for her role in ‘Yellowjackets,’ has shared insights into the upcoming ‘Scream 7’ movie directed by Kevin Williamson. Brown, who portrays Mindy Meeks-Martin in the horror franchise, discussed the latest installment while promoting the new season of ‘Yellowjackets,’ where she plays the character of Taissa, a teenage survivor of a plane crash. The highly anticipated ‘Scream 7’ is scheduled for release in February 2026.
Having joined the ‘Scream’ series back in 2022 and reprised her role in ‘Scream VI,’ Brown is excited to reunite with original stars Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox in the upcoming sequel. Alongside her co-star Mason Gooding, who plays her on-screen twin brother Chad, Brown is working under the direction of Kevin Williamson, the creator of the franchise. Williamson, renowned for his work on the original ‘Scream’ movies, including ‘Scream 2’ and ‘Scream 4,’ has brought a unique perspective to the latest film.

Reflecting on her experience working with Williamson, Brown expressed admiration for his passion and dedication to the project. She described Williamson as a kind and delightful person, highlighting his emotional connection to the franchise. Brown revealed, “He cries every day on set because he’s so thrilled. This franchise started his career, and I am really honoured to get to play his favourite character.”
Williamson’s enthusiasm for the film was evident from the start of production, as he took to social media to share his excitement. The director expressed gratitude towards the cast and crew, acknowledging the influence of the late filmmaker Wes Craven, who directed the initial ‘Scream’ movies. Brown praised Williamson’s leadership and the collaborative spirit on set, emphasising the impactful experience of working with such a talented team.

‘Scream 7’ features a mix of returning and new cast members, including Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, Ethan Embry, Mckenna Grace, and Joel McHale. Brown highlighted the seamless transition from working on ‘Yellowjackets’ to the ‘Scream’ set, particularly praising McHale for his talent and professionalism. Sharing a light-hearted moment, she joked about McHale “following her around” on consecutive projects and endorsed him for future roles due to his exceptional qualities as an actor.
As the anticipation builds for the release of ‘Scream 7,’ fans can expect a thrilling addition to the iconic horror franchise.
