Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, was recently surprised with a meaningful gift during his attendance at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. The event witnessed a semi-final volleyball match between Team UK and Team Nigeria on February 15, where Prince Harry was seated alongside Olga Rudnieva, the CEO of the Superhumans rehabilitation center in Ukraine. Rudnieva shared with Hello! Magazine and on Instagram that she presented Prince Harry with a bracelet bearing a powerful message that reflects his support for her home country.
The bracelet gifted to Prince Harry featured the message, “Whoever saves one life saves the world,” symbolising the importance of his backing for Ukraine. Rudnieva expressed immense gratitude for Prince Harry’s support towards the Ukrainian team and people, highlighting how his visible encouragement has deeply moved and overwhelmed Ukrainians. Through this gesture, Rudnieva aimed to convey the significance of Harry’s support to Ukraine.

Sharing moments from the encounter, Rudnieva posted on her Instagram Story a selfie with Prince Harry and Superhumans fundraising manager Ksenia Ilenkiv. She also shared a clip of handing over the bracelet to the Invictus Games founder, with the jewellery displaying Prince Harry’s initials alongside the meaningful message in Ukrainian. Prince Harry graciously received the gift, acknowledging the importance of the gesture and playfully dubbing themselves “bracelet buddies.”
In an interview, Rudnieva reflected on Prince Harry’s impactful support for Ukraine, recalling a heartwarming incident where he draped the Ukrainian flag around a patient during a medal ceremony. This act resonated widely within Ukraine, underscoring the significance of UK support for the country. Rudnieva emphasised the vital role of support in aiding individuals in need of post-war adjustments and thanked Prince Harry for his unwavering backing of the Ukrainian people.
Superhumans, established in 2023, is dedicated to assisting individuals through various forms of rehabilitation, serving 3,000 people annually. The organisation offers services such as face and limb reconstruction, prosthetic rehabilitation, psychological support, and social reintegration. With a special focus on empowering veterans, Superhumans participated in this year’s Invictus Games with eight athletes who had previously benefited from the organisation’s services.

The Invictus Games, initiated by Prince Harry in 2014 for wounded, injured, and sick veterans and service personnel, recently commenced its latest edition in Canada. Featuring over 500 athletes from 23 nations in eleven adaptive sports, the Games expanded to include six winter sports. Prince Harry expressed his excitement at hosting the Winter Games in Canada, marking a significant milestone as the event returned to a former host country. The Games will culminate with the rowing finals and a Closing Ceremony featuring stellar performances.
As the Invictus Games continue to inspire and unite veterans worldwide, Prince Harry’s unwavering dedication to supporting individuals in their post-war journey serves as a beacon of hope and unity. Through meaningful gestures like the bracelet presented by Olga Rudnieva, the spirit of resilience and camaraderie embodied by the Games shines brightly, fostering a sense of community and solidarity among participants and supporters alike.
