A 55-year-old tourist visiting the Turks and Caicos found herself in a precarious situation when she was attacked by a shark while attempting to interact with it for a photograph. The incident took place in Blue Hills, Providenciales, at around 10:30 a.m. local time on Friday, Feb. 7, according to authorities who detailed the event in a Facebook post.


Authorities revealed that the woman had ventured into the shallows to engage with the shark and take pictures, leading to her sustaining injuries during the encounter. Following the attack, the victim was swiftly transported to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre where she received immediate medical attention before being moved off the island for further treatment. As of now, her identity has not been disclosed, and the severity of her injuries remains undisclosed.
