Kanye West, the renowned rapper and fashion designer, is currently entangled in a lawsuit with a former Yeezy employee. In the complaint, the employee, known as Jane Doe, accuses West of comparing himself to Hitler, making threats due to her Jewish heritage, and terminating her employment immediately after she reported his alleged behaviour to her supervisor. These shocking allegations were detailed in a complaint filed in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County on February 11.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Doe joined Yeezy as a marketing specialist in late 2023, around the time when West publicly apologised to the Jewish community in Hebrew for his previous antisemitic remarks. Despite this apology, the lawsuit claims that West engaged in a campaign of threatening and psychologically tormenting Jewish individuals in his circle, particularly targeting the plaintiff.

Throughout the early months of 2024, West allegedly made derogatory remarks towards Doe, including calling her names like “bitch” and “ugly,” while also spewing hate speech against her religion. The lawsuit further alleges that West referred to himself as “Hitler” and a “Nazi,” creating a hostile work environment for Doe.
In January 2024, around the time of the controversy surrounding his album cover resembling Nazi symbolism, Doe reportedly urged West to denounce any association with Nazism to address the negative attention. However, West responded with a disturbing text message stating, “I Am A Nazi.” Additionally, in the same month, he allegedly shared a nude photo with Doe and other colleagues, causing her great discomfort.

The situation escalated in June 2024, when West allegedly sent a message to Doe and other Jewish co-workers, welcoming them to “working for Hitler.” He then proceeded to remove them from a group chat before adding them back only to insult them and subsequently delete them again. This ongoing behaviour eventually led to Doe being terminated via email on June 5, one day after reporting West’s actions.
Doe’s lawsuit against West includes a myriad of claims such as discrimination, retaliation, harassment, breach of contract, wrongful termination, and emotional distress. She is seeking an undisclosed amount exceeding $35,000 and requesting a trial by jury to address the alleged injustices she faced during her employment with Yeezy.
The filing of this lawsuit comes in the wake of West’s recent controversial remarks and actions, including an antisemitic outburst and the subsequent termination by his management team. The closure of his Yeezy website, following the sale of Swastika T-shirts during the Super Bowl, further adds to the tumultuous events surrounding the artist.
As the legal battle ensues, the allegations against Kanye West shed light on the importance of addressing workplace discrimination and harassment. The case serves as a reminder of the need for accountability and respect within all professional environments, regardless of one’s status or influence.
The impact of such allegations on West’s career and public image remains to be seen, but the lawsuit underscores the significance of standing up against abusive behaviour in any setting. As the legal proceedings progress, the repercussions of these disturbing accusations on both parties involved will undoubtedly continue to unfold.
