As reported by FOX affiliate WDRB and NBC affiliate WLEX, the fortunate winner had originally intended to treat herself to a Blizzard at Dairy Queen but made a fateful stop at a Shell gas station in Mount Sterling instead. It was there that she decided to purchase a $20 Kentucky Jackpot scratch ticket, ultimately leading to her life-changing win.
Upon returning to her car, the woman scratched the ticket and was initially delighted to believe she had won $100. However, her excitement soared when she noticed the tell-tale comma and realised the magnitude of her winnings. “I thought it was $100 at first but then I saw the comma, so there was more,” she shared with WDRB. “I noticed the smaller zeroes and knew it was a big one.”
