A karate instructor, William Propper, is facing serious allegations of sexually assaulting a young boy at a summer camp in Texas. The unsettling incident took place at the Safety America Karate school in Sugar Land, as detailed in an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.
The accused, William Propper, who is 30 years old, reportedly committed the heinous act at the karate camp, targeting a boy who was only 13 or 14 years old at the time, according to the information disclosed in the affidavit. The victim’s mother became aware of the horrifying incident and promptly contacted the Sugar Land Police Department to report the alleged assault.

The victim confided in his mother, informing her that Propper had assaulted him in a staff bathroom at the karate school. It was revealed that the boy had been a student of Propper since 2018. It is reported that the assault occurred during a summer camp session at the karate school, where Propper suggested and engaged in sexual activity with the victim, instructing him to keep the incident a secret thereafter.

In the wake of the disturbing allegations, Propper was arrested on Saturday, February 1, and has since been released on a $75,000 bond. The legal proceedings are ongoing, with the case still pending submission to the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office. Propper is scheduled to make a court appearance on March 17.
Following these grave accusations, an attorney representing Safety America Karate issued a statement to KHOU-11, notifying that an employee has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of an investigation. Despite the upheaval, classes at the karate school are expected to resume as normal, with the institution seeking understanding and support during this challenging time.
Cases of sexual assault are deeply distressing and may have long-lasting effects on the victims. If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, it is crucial to seek help and support.
