Jack Fincham, the winner of Love Island UK, has been sentenced to six weeks in jail after his dog bit two individuals. The Essex Police confirmed the incident in a press release, stating that the 32-year-old reality star pleaded guilty to two charges of having a dangerously out-of-control dog.

Initially rising to fame when he won season 4 of Love Island UK alongside ex-partner Dani Dyer in 2018, Fincham’s dog was deemed “dangerously out of control” by the authorities. The dog had first injured a man in Kent, with Fincham admitting guilt to the charges at the Southend-on-Sea Magistrates’ Court on January 29, 2025.

The first incident occurred in September 2022 in Saleh Drive, Swanley, Kent, where a man in his 40s sustained injuries to his arm due to Fincham’s dog. Subsequently, in June 2024, the dog bit a woman in Grays, Essex. Prosecutor Erin Peck shared that initially, the man involved in the 2022 incident accepted an apology from Fincham, who was then cautioned and instructed to undergo a responsible dog ownership course.
Despite being given a caution after the first incident, Fincham’s dog attacked another individual in 2024, leading to charges against the reality star. The court ordered him to pay various fines, contributions, and compensation, along with specific restrictions regarding his dog’s behaviour in public places.
Jack Fincham is known for his appearance at the Child Of Britain Awards in 2022 and a screening of ‘Peter Rabbit 2’ in London in 2021. However, this recent legal issue has put a spotlight on his responsibilities as a dog owner and the consequences of failing to control his pet.
The repercussions of Fincham’s dog’s actions serve as a reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and adherence to laws regarding animal control. The incident highlights the potential dangers of owning pets that are not properly trained or restrained, leading to harm or injury to others.
As an individual in the public eye, Jack Fincham’s case also raises discussions about accountability, especially for celebrities and influencers, in ensuring their pets do not pose a threat to public safety. The legal actions taken against him underscore the seriousness of dog attacks and the legal consequences that can follow such incidents.
Overall, the situation involving Jack Fincham and his dog serves as a cautionary tale for all pet owners to take the necessary precautions to prevent their animals from causing harm to others. It also calls attention to the legal and ethical responsibilities that come with owning pets, regardless of one’s public status or celebrity standing.
