Christina Haack, known for her appearances on HGTV shows, recently shared an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, where she opened up about her breakup with her third husband, Josh Hall. The couple, who had been married for nearly three years, split in July 2024 amidst filming for the upcoming HGTV competition series, “The Flip Off.” Haack disclosed that she had a gut feeling about the impending end of their relationship right from the start of filming for the show.

As the divorce proceedings unfolded and left Haack without her partner in the house-flipping competition against her first husband Tarek El Moussa and his current wife Heather Rae El Moussa, Haack remained steadfast in her commitment to the show. Despite the challenges of going solo on the series, Haack expressed that she had an inkling of the breakup even before it happened. She explained, “No, I kind of knew it was going to happen.”
Tarek and Heather, who were also part of the same series, were not oblivious to the strains in Haack and Hall’s relationship. Haack revealed that she had discussions with them about the issues they were facing. She mentioned, “They were aware that there were issues and it’s something that we had to sidebar on in regards to how all of us were going to handle even filming with Josh because there was already some difficulty there.”
Despite the unexpected turn of events that altered the original concept of the show, Haack found solace in the distraction that the filming provided. She revealed that participating in “The Flip Off” helped alleviate some of the stress she was going through during the breakup. Haack admitted, “It definitely was a distraction. I think it relieved that stress.”
Haack’s professional journey in the realm of home improvement shows began alongside Tarek El Moussa on the popular HGTV series “Flip or Flop.” The former couple, who were married for seven years, continued to collaborate on the show even after their divorce in 2016 until it concluded in 2022. Haack then ventured into solo projects like “Christina on the Coast” in 2019 and “Christina in the Country” in 2023, focusing on her expertise as an interior designer.
“The Flip Off,” announced in May 2024, was initially set to feature Haack, Hall, Tarek, and Heather as its stars. However, following the split, Haack continued the show with her dedicated team of experts. The series captures the unfolding drama between the exes, who are now in new relationships, as they navigate the challenges of house flipping competitions.
The personal highs and lows of Haack’s life have often made their way into the public eye, including her new relationship with businessman Christopher Larocca and Hall’s involvement with model Stephanie Gabrys. Despite the tumultuous events in their personal lives, Haack and Hall are both pushing forward in their respective journeys. “The Flip Off” airs on HGTV Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT, offering viewers a glimpse into the intertwined worlds of home renovation and personal relationships.
