Actress and comedian Meg Stalter recently unveiled her debut pop album, *Crave*, which hit the music scene in September. The 36-year-old entertainer, well-known for her Emmy Award accolades and engaging red carpet appearances, took centre stage at the 2026 Grindr Pleasure Ball, held in New York City on October 22.

Stalter’s performance at the star-studded event had a distinctive flair, fitting the intergalactic theme of the evening, “Future Lovers.” Donning a space-age outfit complete with a blonde wig and glittering drag-inspired makeup, she jokingly described her appearance as an astronaut ready to embark on a music mission. “I really wanted to be a pop star going to the moon, not the first one to do it,” she remarked.
The Grindr Pleasure Ball, which supports Grindr for Equality, the dating app’s social initiative aiming to connect ten million members of the LGBTQ+ community to HIV prevention by 2028, served as the backdrop for Stalter’s live performance. Among the songs she graced the stage with were “Prettiest Girl in America,” “GAY,” “I Need You,” and “Famous Me.” Expressing enthusiasm for the event, she said, “Performing at the Grindr Ball makes sense because Grindr is a dating app and I’m sort of a matchmaker! Now that I found my perfect girlfriend and I’m sooo in love, I want others to find love!”
Stalter’s album *Crave* boasts a blend of campy pop tunes infused with her signature comedic writing. The record features collaborations with various artists, including MUNA, Cailin Russo, and VNLLA. The title *Crave* reflects her passion for creating music with her collaborators, Jesse Thomas and Matias Mora. “We’re addicted to working together,” she explained. “It’s like how you crave a cigarette; you just want more.”
Her journey into the pop world took a personal turn, as her co-stars from the acclaimed show *Hacks* were among the first to hear her new music. Stalter mentioned their enthusiastic support, noting that “they loved every song” and highlighting their creative fandom. Particularly, she received accolades from co-creators Paul Downs and Lucia Aniello, who expressed a fondness for her ‘80s-inspired ballad “I Need You,” which she composed for her girlfriend.
When discussing her artistic influences, Stalter emphasized her close connections. “I’m really inspired by myself,” she noted, along with the supportive presence of her family, her girlfriend, and her talented team. However, she also acknowledged the iconic status of classic pop stars, with Britney Spears being a significant source of inspiration.
Looking to the future, Stalter is eager to expand her collaboration horizons, expressing a desire to work with pop stars who share her enthusiasm for creativity. “If anything, I’d like to do some sort of competition show or something where the pop stars are competing to get a chance to feature on my song,” she joked.
As for what lies ahead in her music career, Stalter remains open to possibilities. “The next album could be anything—a Fourth of July album, a country album, or even a Halloween album,” she mused, indicating that her future projects will continue the same surprising trajectory as her debut.
*Crave* is currently available, offering listeners a delightful blend of humour and heart, emblematic of Stalter’s unique style and artistry. With her recent explorations into pop music, Stalter establishes herself as a versatile performer keen on bridging comedy with the vibrancy of modern pop culture. As she continues to make waves in the entertainment world, fans eagerly anticipate what she will create next.
