In a tragic incident at Disneyland, a female guest in her 60s passed away after riding the Haunted Mansion attraction. Anaheim Police confirmed the discovery of an “unresponsive woman” on the ride on Monday, October 6. However, the cause of her death remains undisclosed.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Coroner did not take custody of the body, which means that an autopsy will not be carried out to determine the cause of death. This decision suggests that a doctor has signed off on the death certificate, and the family has taken custody of the body.
Matt Sutter, the public information officer for the Anaheim Police Department, revealed that emergency services responded to the park at 6:30 p.m. on the day of the incident. They found the woman in her 60s unresponsive after completing the Haunted Mansion ride. Despite Disneyland security providing immediate CPR, she was pronounced deceased after being transported to a local hospital.
The spokesperson for the police department described the event as an “unfortunate medical episode” and clarified that there were no operational issues with the attraction, which resumed normal operations shortly after the incident.
