Mýa Responds to Reports of ‘Catfights’ During ‘Lady Marmalade’ Music Video Shoot

Mýa, the talented singer, has stepped forward to address the long-standing rumours of tension and conflicts during the filming of the iconic music video for “Lady Marmalade” alongside Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Lil’ Kim. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the Grammy-winning artist, now 45, recounted her experience from the 2001 video shoot, challenging the narratives of discord among the “bada– chicks from the Moulin Rouge.”
As Mýa recently unveiled the music video for her latest single, “Face to Face,” she reflected on the past and clarified, “I personally never witnessed any catfights, nothing.” Dismissing the speculations surrounding clashes on set, she expressed, “Whatever was supposedly going on, I had no eyes. I had no ears to even have a clue – that’s if it existed at all.”
The rumours of tension have often revolved around Pink and Aguilera, with Aguilera denying any drama among the artists. In her statement to Cosmopolitan in 2021, Aguilera emphasised the professionalism exhibited during the shoot, asserting, “there was no drama whatsoever when all of us were on that stage together.”

Although the artists recorded their vocals individually, they united for rehearsals under the guidance of choreographer Tina Landon, adopting character modes for the choreography.
