Ramirez described the surreal moment, saying, “It didn’t feel real at all. It looked fine to me and then out of nowhere, boom, it hit the other one and went straight to the ground.” Witnesses revealed that some riders were trapped inside the malfunctioning ride for over an hour before emergency responders arrived at the scene. Luckily, everyone involved in the incident escaped unharmed.
The Los Angeles Fire Department is currently investigating the matter, along with the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health’s (Cal/OSHA) Amusement Ride and Tramway Unit. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles, which oversees the Catholic school system in the area, expressed gratitude to the first responders and assured that the safety of participants remains a top priority.
