Six Flags Over Texas has recently unveiled their newest attraction, the ‘Giga Dive’ roller coaster named Tormenta Rampaging Run. The amusement park located in Arlington, Texas, is set to introduce this record-breaking roller coaster in 2026 to commemorate the park’s 65th anniversary.

The Tormenta Rampaging Run is not just any ordinary roller coaster – it is designed to break six world records. It is touted to be the tallest, fastest, longest, and the first-of-its-kind giga dive coaster globally. The ride is themed around the Spanish tradition of the running of the bulls, incorporating elements of thrill and excitement. As riders embark on the Tormenta Rampaging Run, they will experience a staggering 309-foot ascent followed by a heart-stopping 95-degree drop at speeds reaching up to 87 mph.

This groundbreaking roller coaster spans an impressive 4,199 feet of track, featuring unique elements such as the tallest vertical loop at 179 feet and the highest Immelmann Inversion at 218 feet. Sophie Bolliger, the president of Bolliger & Mabillard, the consulting engineers and designers of the coaster, expressed their excitement, stating that Tormenta Rampaging Run sets new standards for the theme park industry and marks a historic moment for Six Flags.

While the exact opening date for the Tormenta Rampaging Run has not been disclosed, it is expected to debut in 2026, aligning with Six Flags Over Texas’ 65th anniversary celebrations. The park, which initially opened its doors on August 1, 1961, plans to offer special events, giveaways, and surprises to mark this significant milestone.

In addition to the roller coaster, Six Flags will introduce a new area known as Rancho de la Tormenta, inspired by a secluded Spanish village. This themed section will immerse guests in Spanish culture, complete with vibrant banners, Spanish music, and a new dining option called Cocina Abuela. The restaurant will showcase culinary delights from Spain and Latin America, adding to the immersive experience.
