An Ohio couple has been taken into custody and slapped with charges of starving and mistreating three young children under their care after authorities were summoned to their residence to help a 9-year-old boy who law enforcement claimed was severely malnourished and weighed merely 30 pounds. Angel Holland and Aaron Stalling faced accusations of three counts each of child endangerment and felony abuse, according to documents from Hamilton County Jail scrutinised by PEOPLE.
The children’s grandfather, Ronald Sanders, declared to WXIX that the three children were still hospitalised last week. Elmwood Place police attended to the residence and found the 9-year-old boy unresponsive on September 13, based on reports from WXIX, WCSC, and WLWT. Sanders expressed to WXIX, condemning Holland and Stalling, who reportedly was her live-in boyfriend, that a snapshot he saw of his grandson was “the most dreadful, unsettling thing I have ever encountered in my life.”

Citing accounts from Hamilton County court records, WXIX and WCSC disclosed that Stalling dialed 911 on September 13 after becoming distressed that the 9-year-old boy wasn’t breathing properly. Stalling can apparently be heard informing a 911 dispatcher that his child was either struggling to breathe or wasn’t breathing at all. Emergency responders were able to revive the boy at the location, where they discovered the boy’s siblings — aged 8 and 6 — who were also allegedly malnourished and necessitated medical care, as stated by WXIX and WCSC. One of the most senior prosecutors in Hamilton County depicted the case as one of the most appalling instances of child abuse witnessed in 25 years, as stated by WLWT.
Hamilton County Prosecutor’s remarks underscores the severity of the case and serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance against child abuse and neglect in our communities.
