In a recent update provided to fans on TikTok, Halsey shared insights into her ongoing health journey as she gears up for her upcoming global tour, ‘Back to Badlands’. The singer, who identifies with she/they pronouns, disclosed that she had undergone a few rounds of chemotherapy as part of her treatment plan. This revelation comes over a year after Halsey first made public her diagnosis of Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder back in 2022.

The TikTok clip, posted on September 26, saw Halsey candidly discussing her health challenges, stating, “Just coming on here to give you guys another speed round of updates. [I] just did another few sessions of chemo,” She also mentioned having a new port placed. A chemo port is a medical device implanted in a vein, usually in the upper chest area, to facilitate blood drawing and administering treatments like chemotherapy drugs without the need for frequent needle sticks.
Lupus SLE, one of Halsey’s diagnosed conditions, is an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues, leading to inflammation that can impact various organs and systems in the body. Unfortunately, there is no known cure for Lupus, highlighting the challenges Halsey faces on her health journey. Additionally, the singer’s rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder falls under a group of diseases characterised by the abnormal production of white blood cells, known as lymphocytes, which can manifest as conditions like leukemia and lymphoma.
Despite these health obstacles, Halsey remains focused on her much-anticipated Back to Badlands international tour, set to kick off next month in celebration of the 10th anniversary of her debut album, Badlands. Expressing excitement about the upcoming show, Halsey teased fans about what to expect, stating, “We just put the Back to Badlands show together, and it’s going to be unbelievable [and] so amazing.”
The singer also touched on personal milestones, revealing that her birthday was approaching and jokingly recounting a conversation with her fiancé, Avan Jogia, about the tour’s starting venue being the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. Despite the challenges she faces, Halsey’s resilience and humour shine through as she navigates her health journey alongside her professional commitments.
Halsey’s openness about her health struggles serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritising self-care and seeking support when facing medical challenges. As fans rally around the singer with messages of support and encouragement, Halsey’s courage in sharing her journey resonates with many who may be navigating similar health battles. Stay tuned for updates on Halsey’s health and tour as she continues to inspire with her music and resilience in the face of adversity.
