Andrew Walker and Rachel Boston, familiar faces on the Hallmark Channel, are set to reunite in the upcoming movie ‘Adventures in Love & Birding.’ The duo first shared the screen in an episode of ER back in 2008 and later collaborated on Lifetime’s ‘A Christmas in Tennessee.’ Now, 17 years after their initial encounter on ER, they are working together again for Hallmark Channel’s new film, premiering on Saturday, Sept. 27.

Walker, 46, reminisces about the experience of filming the intense episode of ER, titled “Status Quo,” which aired during the show’s 14th season. In this episode, he and Boston portrayed two military individuals dealing with complex emotions surrounding pregnancy and rape in the military. The episode required them to delve into a range of emotional territories, making it a challenging yet rewarding experience for the actors.
Producer John Wells, known for his work on popular shows like Shameless and The West Wing, played a pivotal role in bringing Walker and Boston together for the ER episode. Wells recognised the chemistry between the two actors during auditions and decided to cast them in the roles that demanded a strong on-screen connection. This decision ultimately led to a successful partnership that extended beyond ER.
Fast forward to the present day, and Walker and Boston are embarking on a lighter project with ‘Adventures in Love & Birding.’ The movie, inspired by the novel ‘Birding with Benefits’ by Sarah T. Dubbs, follows the story of a single mother (Boston) who teams up with a bird enthusiast (Walker) for a birding competition. However, a miscommunication leads to a mix-up where she believes they are supposed to pretend to be a couple instead of just teammates, resulting in a charming and comedic romance.
Boston, 43, expresses her gratitude for transitioning from the serious themes of ER to the more uplifting narrative of ‘Adventures in Love & Birding.’ Working with Walker again allowed her to explore their on-screen relationship with ease and familiarity. The duo’s chemistry shines through as they navigate the character dynamics and bring the heartwarming love story to life in a natural and engaging manner.
‘Adventures in Love & Birding’ provides a refreshing take on romance, focusing on themes of patience, understanding, and the complexities of relationships. The film promises a delightful and heartening viewing experience for audiences, showcasing the actors’ talent for portraying genuine on-screen connections and emotions.
Don’t miss the premiere of ‘Adventures in Love & Birding’ on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the Hallmark Channel.
