FRNSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry noted that the air quality at the scene was compromised, with FRNSW’s Chief Superintendent Jeff Hogan detecting “extremely high levels” of carbon monoxide. As a result, seven individuals, including the five police officers, were taken to the hospital. Fortunately, reports indicate that those hospitalised are in stable condition, according to New South Wales ambulance services.

Restaurant owner Resham Singh conveyed sadness over the situation, emphasising that the deceased man was part of a family. He mentioned that his three chefs, who resided above the premises, managed to escape unharmed.
