Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have teamed up to create a new restaurant in Kansas City that has been generating a lot of buzz. The highly anticipated steakhouse, 1587 Prime, is set to open its doors on Sept. 17. As a resident of Kansas City for almost 19 years, the excitement surrounding this new dining establishment is unparalleled. Nestled inside the Loews Hotel in downtown K.C., 1587 Prime boasts a contemporary two-story design that aims to recreate the feeling of walking into an NFL stadium. The restaurant has its own valet service, making it convenient for guests to arrive and step through the wooden double doors into a luxurious dining space. The interior features premium dry-aged steaks displayed in glass cases and an impressive selection of wines showcased in lighted cases.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a large horseshoe-shaped bar with marble countertops and bronze chairs. The elegant decor includes a curved wood beam ceiling, a grand staircase, and lavish seating arrangements accented with gold and bronze touches. The ambiance is enhanced by live music performances on a beautifully tiled stage, adding to the overall dining experience.

The drink menu, curated by beverage director Juan Carlos Santana, offers a variety of unique cocktails inspired by Mahomes and Kelce. From the smoky bourbon-based Big Yeti to the refreshing Grey Goose lychee cocktail named after Brittany Mahomes, each drink is carefully crafted to delight the palate. The attention to detail extends to a tableside martini cart, where patrons can enjoy specialty cocktails like the Showtime and The Alchemy, each with its own distinctive flair.
Executive Chef Ryan Arnold has created a tantalizing menu that features a range of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Standout dishes include the tuna tartare with truffle ponzu sauce, lobster rolls with caviar, and a decadent black truffle grilled cheese with tomato soup. The main course options cater to various preferences, including steaks, seafood, and poultry, with special highlights like the Big Red wagyu burger, personally endorsed by Chiefs coach Andy Reid.
Despite the indulgent spread, leaving without trying the desserts would be a missed opportunity. Guests can relish in treats like the oversized carrot cake or the skillet-baked chocolate chip cookie served with vanilla ice cream. The restaurant’s capacity to accommodate nearly 240 patrons ensures a lively yet intimate dining atmosphere, reminiscent of upscale establishments in larger cities like New York and Los Angeles.
For those eager to experience Mahomes and Kelce’s culinary venture, reservations are released daily and can be secured up to 30 days in advance. The grand opening of 1587 Prime coincides with Patrick Mahomes’ 30th birthday on Sept. 17, marking a milestone event for both football stars turned restaurateurs. As the restaurant continues to garner attention and accolades, food enthusiasts and Chiefs fans alike can anticipate a dining experience that lives up to the high expectations set by its celebrated owners.
