Robert Irwin, known for his fearless antics with crocodiles, has recently shared that his experience on “Dancing with the Stars” has been more nerve-wracking than handling reptiles. The 21-year-old wildlife conservationist, accustomed to dealing with dangerous animals like crocodiles and venomous snakes, confessed that learning synchronized dance moves has brought about a major case of nerves for him.

In an exclusive interview with People magazine, Robert expressed his apprehension about performing in public during the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars,” scheduled to premiere on ABC on September 16. Describing his feelings, he admitted, “If you think you’re bad at dancing, multiply that by 100! I’ve never tried it, I don’t wear sequins, I’m not in this world at all. So it’s super new, and it’s terrifying, but it’s also awesome.”

While the conservationist is stepping out of his comfort zone on the dance floor, he usually spends his time at Australia Zoo working with rehabilitated wildlife or indulging in adrenaline-pumping adventures like surfing, skydiving, skateboarding, mountain biking, and rock climbing. Robert attributed his adventurous spirit to the Irwin family genes, stating, “I was just born to be wild.”

Acknowledging the importance of embracing new experiences, Robert emphasised the transient nature of life, highlighting the need to take calculated risks while enjoying what one does and giving it their all. Speaking about the perceived danger of wrangling crocodiles, he explained that there is a purpose behind such actions, whether it’s for rescuing the animals or participating in research projects aimed at understanding and protecting crocodiles.
Apart from his thrilling escapades, Robert is deeply passionate about wildlife conservation and sees “Dancing with the Stars” as a platform to raise awareness about pressing environmental issues. He believes that the ongoing decade will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our planet amidst challenges such as habitat destruction, poaching, and climate change-induced catastrophes.
In his quest to advocate for nature, Robert aims to shine a light on the beauty of the natural world while addressing the pressing concerns threatening its existence. He remains hopeful that with proactive measures and a positive outlook, it is still possible to reverse the damage inflicted on the environment. By participating in the competition show, he intends to leverage his platform to reach a broader audience and spread his conservation message.
As he gears up for his performances on “Dancing with the Stars,” Robert Irwin epitomises the ethos of daring to push boundaries and championing causes close to his heart. With his unwavering dedication to wildlife conservation and his courageous spirit in taking on new challenges, Robert serves as an inspiration for both his fans and environmental enthusiasts worldwide.
