Christine Brown has recently delved into the true reasons behind her family’s relocation to Flagstaff in her latest memoir. The star of ‘Sister Wives’ opened up about her ex-husband Kody Brown’s purported ulterior motives for the move in her book titled ‘Sister Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Finding Freedom’, released on September 2. Christine, now 53, shared her insights into the decision to uproot their lives from Las Vegas to Arizona in 2017 in an attempt to provide a safer and better financial future for the family.

According to Christine, Kody informed the family that they needed to leave Las Vegas, citing safety and financial reasons. While he presented it as a collective decision, Christine believes that the choice of Flagstaff was predetermined. She acknowledges her initial reluctance to relocate, not wanting to separate her children from their friends and schools. However, she eventually agreed to the move to maintain family unity and foster better relationships between her children and their father.
The move to Flagstaff took place in 2018, with Christine now reflecting on a possible hidden agenda behind Kody’s push for the relocation. She expressed feeling blindsided upon discovering that the move coincided with Robyn and Kody’s son’s acceptance to a university in Flagstaff. This revelation left her questioning whether the move was orchestrated to benefit Robyn’s proximity to her son at the expense of Christine’s bond with her children in Las Vegas.

Apart from the emotional strain of leaving her older children behind, Christine also grappled with financial challenges related to a 14-acre property they purchased in Flagstaff called Coyote Pass. The original plan for each wife to build separate homes on the compound to live closer to one another unraveled due to financial constraints and changes in their plural marriage dynamics. Coyote Pass became a contentious issue in the family, eventually leading to its sale earlier this year.
After 25 years of marriage, Christine made the decision to leave Kody in November 2021. Her departure was followed by Meri and Janelle announcing their separations from Kody within 14 months. Currently, Kody is only married to Robyn. Christine’s memoir sheds light on the unrevealed aspects of their family dynamics, offering a deeper understanding of the challenges they faced beyond what was portrayed on their reality show.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Christine emphasised the candid nature of her memoir, presenting a more comprehensive narrative of their family’s journey. She expressed the importance of sharing her untold story, shedding light on the complexities and struggles that led to her decision to leave the plural marriage. Through her book, Christine aims to provide readers with an inside perspective into the realities of their family life, revealing the unspoken truths and personal growth that culminated in her departure.

As Christine continues to navigate life post-separation, her memoir serves as a testament to her resilience and determination to seek personal fulfilment and independence. The revelations in her book offer a glimpse into the challenging dynamics of plural marriages and the complexities involved in maintaining familial bonds amidst shifting circumstances. Christine’s courage in sharing her story resonates with readers, highlighting the power of self-discovery and the pursuit of one’s authentic path.
