The search for Decker has been in progress for around three months since he failed to return his daughters, Paityn (9), Evelyn (8), and Olivia (5), to their mother after a visit. Recently, on August 25 and 26, bones were found near the Rock Island Campground close to Leavenworth. However, the FBI’s Seattle Division clarified that these remains were not those of Travis Decker. Special Agent in Charge, W. Mike Herrington, confirmed that Central Washington University had examined the bones and determined that they were not human. Despite this discovery, the investigation into Decker’s whereabouts and the murder of his daughters continues.

The extensive search efforts have been ongoing for approximately three months with officials tirelessly working to gather any clues that could lead to Decker’s apprehension. The search team meticulously covered almost 250 acres of rough terrain on foot over a period of two days. Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison emphasised the thoroughness of the search, stating that further efforts will be made to expand the search to additional areas with the assistance of additional state resources. The sheriff also mentioned that more support would be provided by unnamed agencies soon.
The tragic incident involving Decker’s daughters saw the young girls found deceased with plastic bags over their heads, with at least one of them being restrained with zip ties, indicating a distressing scene. A medical examiner concluded that the cause of death was asphyxiation. Authorities have identified Decker as the sole suspect in the case and have put up a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to his arrest. The U.S. Marshals Service has been actively involved in the manhunt to track down Decker, who is still at large and deemed armed and dangerous.
Throughout the investigation, there have been disturbing details emerging about the manner in which the girls were killed, shedding light on the heinous nature of the crime. The search for Travis Decker continues with a sense of urgency, as authorities work tirelessly to bring him to justice for the alleged murder of his three young daughters. The community remains vigilant and hopeful for a resolution to this heartbreaking case.
