The novel features protagonist Penelope Mae Dupont, also known as Pip, who works as the assistant to a renowned mystery writer named Hugh Griffin. When Pip arranges a luxury book cruise hosting The Fabulous Seven, a group of bestselling authors with eccentric personalities, chaos ensues, leading to unexpected twists and a murder mystery at sea.
The plot thickens when Hugh is found dead, prompting Pip to take matters into her own hands and embark on a quest to solve the case. With the help of Nash, a rugged Western author and her trusted ally, Pip delves into a whirlwind of secrets, red herrings, and hidden agendas. As the amateur sleuth duo navigates through the challenges, Pip faces a pivotal decision — to remain in the shadows or seize the opportunity to shine, all while possibly finding love amidst the chaos.
