A black cat named Cole and his owner have taken TikTok by storm with Cole’s unique talent for pulling tarot cards. This unlikely duo has captured the hearts of a devoted following, drawing on centuries-old folklore about “familiars” and their connection to witches. Fans from all over the world eagerly join a waitlist for Cole’s spontaneous tarot readings, which are conducted entirely on his own terms.
Cole may appear to be an ordinary housecat at first glance, but on TikTok, he is a mystical sensation, with his human companion Emily Cook as his partner in this extraordinary journey. The concept of familiars, believed to assist witches in tapping into their intuition and magic, dates back through centuries of witchcraft and mystical beliefs. Cole and Cook embody this deep bond and spiritual connection as they share their tarot readings with a growing online audience.
“I am very interested in tarot and astrology, so I had a deck of cards out — a traditional Rider-Waite deck — and I kept it in a cup holder on my couch,” explains Emily Cook in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. Cole’s fascination with the cards led to him playfully selecting them with his mouth and dropping them on the carpet. Cook began rewarding him with treats for this behavior, and soon, Cole was consistently pulling cards, showcasing an uncanny intuition that surprised even Cook herself.
Each tarot card holds layers of symbolic meaning and spiritual insights, often reflecting the querent’s subconscious experiences and emotions. For many, tarot serves as a tool for self-reflection, uncovering hidden truths and patterns in one’s life. Despite their popularity, Cook is adamant about not commercializing Cole’s abilities, striving to maintain the authenticity and spontaneity of his readings.
Cole’s origin story adds an intriguing layer to his tarot-reading prowess. A rescue cat from the Humane Society, Cole had faced challenges early in life, including being returned to the shelter twice before turning six months old. Cook’s serendipitous encounter with Cole led to a unique bond, with Cole initially displaying caution and fear towards people. However, as their relationship blossomed, Cole’s intuitive gift for tarot readings emerged, surprising Cook and enchanting their online audience.
Reflecting on a particularly poignant reading, Cook recalls a moment when Cole pulled cards that resonated deeply with her personal struggles. The accuracy of Cole’s readings, coupled with the emotional connection between them, adds a profound dimension to their shared journey. Despite Cole’s increasing popularity, Cook ensures that his readings remain a spontaneous and heartfelt exchange, emphasizing that Cole operates on his own terms.
As Cole continues to captivate audiences with his tarot readings, Cook remains grateful for his presence in her life, describing cats as soul protectors and cherished companions. Their unique partnership serves as a reminder of the unbreakable bond between humans and animals, transcending beyond the ordinary into the realm of magic and intuition. Cole’s unexpected talent has not only brought joy to their lives but has also inspired others to explore the mystical world of tarot through a feline perspective.
In a world filled with uncertainties, Cole’s tarot readings offer a sense of guidance and comfort, reminding us of the profound connections that exist between humans and animals. As their TikTok following continues to grow, Cole and Cook’s magical journey unfolds, weaving a tale of mystery, intuition, and the enduring power of companionship.
