In a heartfelt update to her 1.7 million Instagram followers, influencer Bridget Bahl has decided to share the details of her recent surgery nearly a year after being diagnosed with breast cancer. The 41-year-old content creator, along with her husband Michael Chiodo, is currently awaiting the results of the surgery to determine if her breast tissue and lymph nodes are free from cancer cells. This marks another chapter in Bahl’s courageous battle against breast cancer, which she first disclosed to the public in September 2024.
Bahl revealed in a series of Instagram videos that she underwent a lumpectomy this week, where four lymph nodes were removed from her breast. Chiodo, in an emotional post before the surgery, expressed both sadness and hope, saying, “There’s some happiness because we’re moving things along but still also a little scary.” Following the successful surgery, Chiodo mentioned that Bahl’s operation went smoothly and if the test results come back negative for cancer, she may no longer need chemotherapy, a prospect that Bahl is eagerly looking forward to.

In a heart-wrenching video posted in September 2024, Bahl shared the devastating news of her breast cancer diagnosis, which was discovered during her sixth IVF retrieval process. Despite initially dismissing the lump as a cyst, further tests revealed the harsh reality that she was facing breast cancer that had spread to a lymph node. The subsequent weeks were filled with numerous appointments and treatment plans, turning her life upside down.
Over the past year, Bahl has exhibited immense strength by openly documenting her chemotherapy sessions on social media. In a poignant April update, Bahl and Chiodo disclosed the toll the treatments had taken on her body, prompting her oncologist to advise a six-week break from chemotherapy. The side effects of the treatments also included hair loss, a particularly difficult experience for Bahl, who reflected on the preciousness of life amidst her struggle with cancer.
Throughout her challenging journey, Bahl has used her platform to advocate for self-examinations and early detection. Addressing her predominantly female audience, she emphasised the importance of regular self-checks and prompt medical attention if any abnormalities are found. Her message has resonated with many, highlighting the critical role of awareness and proactive healthcare in combating cancer.
As Bahl recovers from her recent surgery and awaits the test results, her courage and resilience continue to inspire others facing similar struggles. Her unwavering positivity and determination serve as a beacon of hope for those navigating their own battles with cancer. By sharing her story with vulnerability and honesty, Bahl has touched the hearts of many and raised awareness about the importance of early detection and self-care in the fight against breast cancer.
