A man named Wesley Worl, aged 45, is currently facing charges of criminal solicitation of a minor and criminal trespass after a disturbing incident in Texas. The report states that Worl, wearing only a diaper and a pacifier, approached an 11-year-old girl and asked her to change his diaper. This unsettling encounter took place near Andy Woods Elementary in Tyler, Texas, just before 6 p.m. on a Tuesday. The young girl was on her bicycle when Worl, in his unusual attire, emerged from his truck and allegedly uttered ‘goo goo gaa gaa’ before making his inappropriate request.

According to Andy Erbaugh, the public information officer with the Tyler Police Department, Worl seemed to have strategically positioned himself to intercept the girl as she cycled towards the school. Erbaugh described how Worl’s actions escalated quickly as he jumped out of his vehicle, spoke in baby-like language, and demanded a diaper change from the child. Sensing danger, the girl promptly fled the scene and sought help from nearby witnesses. Erbaugh mentioned that these witnesses were familiar with the girl and wasted no time in contacting her parents and alerting the authorities to the alarming situation. Understandably, the girl was left traumatised by the encounter.

After the failed attempt to get the young girl to change his diaper, Worl retreated to his truck and drove away. However, one of the witnesses managed to jot down part of his number plate, aiding the police in identifying him. Surveillance footage of Worl’s truck further corroborated the eyewitness accounts. Subsequently, Worl was identified, warrants were issued for his arrest, and he was taken into custody by law enforcement officials. Besides the criminal solicitation charge, he also faced additional allegations of misdemeanor criminal trespass relating to a separate incident. Worl was subsequently booked into the Smith County Jail, where he remains in custody on a substantial bond of $600,000.
The swift response of the witnesses and law enforcement led to Worl’s apprehension and prevented any further potential harm to the community. The proactive actions of those involved in reporting the incident and providing crucial information highlight the importance of community vigilance in safeguarding individuals, particularly minors, from potential threats and dangers. Authorities have commended the quick thinking and cooperation of the witnesses, emphasising the role that public awareness and assistance play in maintaining safety within neighbourhoods and public spaces.
The unsettling nature of this incident serves as a reminder of the vigilance required to protect vulnerable members of society from potential harm. As the case progresses through the legal system, the focus remains on ensuring the well-being of the young girl affected by Worl’s alleged actions and holding the perpetrator accountable for his behaviour. The community response to this concerning event underscores the collective responsibility to prioritise safety and security, especially for children and adolescents who may be more susceptible to such predatory behaviours. Authorities continue to urge individuals to report any suspicious or alarming activities promptly to prevent similar incidents and uphold the safety of all community members.
