In recent news, popular Cuban-American actor William Levy has been accepted into a misdemeanor diversion program, just two months after facing charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing in Broward County, Florida. The news comes after his arrest in April, where he was reportedly found highly intoxicated and causing a disturbance at a local restaurant.

The 44-year-old actor’s acceptance into the program was confirmed by a judge on June 30, with the expectation for Levy to complete the program by September 29. The misdemeanor diversion program aims to provide first-time offenders with the opportunity to take responsibility for their actions, seek rehabilitation, and divert their cases from the criminal court system.
Upon his arrest on April 14, Levy, whose full name is William Gutiérrez-Levy, was taken into custody after police responded to a disturbance at the restaurant where he was allegedly causing a commotion while being highly intoxicated. Despite being asked to leave by the manager on duty and multiple verbal commands to do so, Levy failed to comply and was subsequently transported to the main jail. He was released the following day after posting a $500 bond.
William Levy is widely recognized for his work in telenovelas, including popular shows like Acorralada, Cuidado con el ángel, and Sortilegio. Apart from his television appearances, Levy has also ventured into films, starring in projects such as Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Additionally, he gained substantial attention for his participation in season 14 of Dancing with the Stars, where he secured the third-place position with his partner Cheryl Burke.
The actor’s personal life has also been under scrutiny, especially after his separation from his ex-wife Elizabeth Gutiérrez was confirmed nearly a year ago. The couple, who met on the reality show Protagonistas de novela 2 in 2003, parted ways after 20 years of togetherness, with Gutiérrez expressing her enduring love for Levy despite the separation.
As Levy works towards completing the misdemeanor diversion program, his fans and followers remain supportive of him during this challenging time. The actor’s commitment to rehabilitation and responsibility serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing personal struggles and seeking help when needed.
In a world where public figures are constantly under the spotlight, William Levy’s journey through this legal process sheds light on the complexities of balancing fame with personal challenges. As the actor progresses through the program, many are hopeful for his successful completion and a positive outcome that allows him to continue his career with newfound strength and resilience.
