Renowned British children’s clothing brand, Pepa London, has recently teamed up with Historic Royal Palaces to launch an exclusive collection paying homage to royal heritage. Founder, Pepa González, expressed her excitement about the collaboration, aiming to blend history with a contemporary twist.

Having had the privilege to explore the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection at Hampton Court Palace, González was deeply moved by the rich history and craftsmanship of the garments. Reflecting on her experience, she shared with PEOPLE, “We wanted to create a collection that would honour that history, but in true Pepa London style, bring it up to date.”
The inspiration for the collection stems from the iconic Liberty print dresses and sailor suits worn by a young Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. These timeless pieces, on display at the Dress Codes exhibition in Kensington Palace, sparked González’s creativity to reimagine them with a modern touch.
The limited-edition capsule collection, set to launch in mid-July, not only celebrates the royal sibling bond represented by the Liberty print dresses but also draws from Queen Victoria’s nautical-themed attire for her children. González highlighted the use of crisp cotton fabrics, tailored silhouettes, and fine detailing to infuse a sense of sophistication for the modern child.
With a portfolio that includes designing for royal occasions, such as Pippa Middleton’s wedding and Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s outfits, González sees this collaboration as an opportunity to create pieces that hold historical significance. She cherishes the moments when her designs become part of the royal family’s cherished memories.
The collection will be available online and at Pepa London stores in London and Palm Beach, Florida. A portion of the proceeds will go towards supporting Historic Royal Palaces, an independent charity managing several historical royal sites across the UK. This initiative adds a charitable touch to the fashion collaboration, aligning with the brand’s ethos of blending tradition with modernity.
As the fashion world embraces this unique fusion of royal childhood nostalgia and contemporary design, the Pepa London x Historic Royal Palaces collection is set to attract not just fashion enthusiasts but also those with a penchant for royal history. The essence of the British monarchy’s elegant past is intricately woven into each piece, creating a timeless allure for the young generation.
The unveiling of this collection serves as a testament to the enduring allure of royal fashion and the ability to reinvent classic styles for a new era. With Pepa London’s innovative approach and dedication to craftsmanship, the collection breathes new life into historical garments, ensuring that the legacy of royal childhood attire continues to captivate hearts for generations to come.
