Pittsburgh Pirates star pitcher, Paul Skenes, who currently holds a $9.2 million contract, is making headlines for his unusual post-baseball career aspirations. The talented right-hander, known for his exceptional skills on the baseball field, recently expressed his interest in pursuing a career in lawn care once his days in baseball are over.
The 23-year-old pitcher was spotted engaging with the groundskeepers at his home ballpark, sparking speculation about his future plans. During a game against the St. Louis Cardinals on July 1, Skenes was seen conversing with the crew and inspecting their work, indicating a potential interest in the art of landscaping.
According to reports, Skenes shared his desire to “cut grass professionally” with a beat reporter, shedding light on his passion for simpler pleasures beyond the realm of professional sports. Despite his busy schedule as a prominent figure in the MLB, Skenes seems to find solace in the idea of tending to lawns and landscapes.
As one of the top pitchers in the league, Skenes has garnered attention not only for his on-field performance but also for his off-field interests. His interaction with the groundskeeping staff hints at a possible shift in focus towards a more hands-on and nature-oriented vocation post-retirement from baseball.
In addition to his burgeoning interest in lawn care, Skenes has been enjoying a successful season in baseball, with a strong chance of being selected as a starting pitcher at the MLB All-Star game in Atlanta. His dedication to both his professional career and his newfound passion for landscaping showcases his multifaceted nature and diverse interests.
Off the field, Skenes’ personal life has also been under the spotlight, particularly his relationship with former gymnast and influencer, Livvy Dunne. The couple, who met during Skenes’ time playing for the Louisiana State University Tigers, has been making waves in the sports and entertainment scene with their dynamic partnership.
Dunne, a social media sensation with millions of followers, has been actively supporting Skenes in his baseball endeavours while exploring her own interests in the sporting world. Their shared love for sports and mutual admiration for each other’s pursuits have solidified their bond and made them a prominent couple in the public eye.
As Skenes continues to excel in his baseball career and explore new avenues of interest, the prospect of seeing him transition from the pitcher’s mound to the lawnmower holds a certain charm. With a mix of talent, ambition, and a dash of whimsy, Skenes’ journey towards a potential career in lawn care adds an intriguing dimension to his already fascinating story.
