An alligator attack on a group of 20 kayakers has left a woman with a severed arm, as reported by various sources. The incident took place in Polk County, Florida, where 64-year-old Christiane Salvador was paddling a canal with her husband, Philip. Reports reveal that as the group approached a section of the canal known as Tiger Creek, Salvador felt a bump against her paddle, causing her kayak to overturn and her arm to become trapped underwater. Amid the chaos, she screamed for help as the alligator latched onto her arm.

Philip acted swiftly to pull his wife onto the upturned kayak, but her arm remained submerged. Another kayaker who came to their aid found himself under attack by the alligator, which grabbed hold of his life jacket and dragged him underwater. In a courageous move, the kayaker fought back by poking the alligator in the eyes before removing his life vest, causing the reptile to retreat with the jacket. The massive alligator, measuring over 8 feet long, was later captured and euthanized following the ordeal.

Christiane was airlifted to Osceola Regional Hospital for treatment of her severed arm, where she is expected to undergo reconstructive surgeries.
