A heartwarming story unfolds as Vitaliy Bondarchuk, a 22-year-old college graduate, undertakes a remarkable project for his 7-year-old sister, Bella, who was born with a limb reduction defect on her left arm. Bondarchuk, a recent graduate of Bob Jones University in Spartanburg, S.C., embarked on his senior project with a unique goal in mind – to create a prosthetic arm for Bella. During his final semester at university, Bondarchuk dedicated over 100 hours to developing a multitool prosthetic arm using a 3D printer. The device features various attachments, including a UNO card holder, a flashlight, and a paint brush holder, all designed based on Bella’s input on what would enhance her quality of life.
The process was a collaborative effort, with Bella actively participating and sharing her preferences with her brother. Her love for playing UNO, a popular card game, particularly inspired one of the prosthetic arm’s functionalities.
