Former “Beverly Hills, 90210” actor Brian Austin Green recently shared his emotional reaction upon learning about the fate of the iconic Walsh family residence from the beloved TV series amidst the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. The Altadena property, known for its role as the Walsh house in the 90s teen drama, was a significant part of the show’s narrative and holds sentimental value for fans worldwide.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the Hollywood Virgin Los Angeles Magazine Book Launch Party, Green, 51, recounted the moment he received the news. He recalled receiving a text with a picture from a friend confirming that the house had survived the fires. Green expressed his relief, stating, “The house is still there. That will never, ever die. It’s amazing. It’s amazing that it’s still there.”

The “90210” house, affectionately referred to as “Casa Walsh” in the series, was the fictional home to twins Brenda and Brandon Walsh, portrayed by Shannen Doherty and Jason Priestley, respectively. Despite the destructive Eaton Fire wreaking havoc in Altadena and the surrounding areas in January, the iconic residence miraculously emerged unscathed from the flames.
The Los Angeles wildfires, encompassing the Eaton Fire and the Palisades Fire, ravaged several neighbourhoods, including Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Pasadena, and Altadena. The fires, fueled by powerful Santa Ana winds reaching hurricane speeds according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Los Angeles, resulted in widespread devastation across Los Angeles County.
Tragically, the wildfires led to 29 confirmed deaths, as reported by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office. Many homes were destroyed, including those belonging to celebrities like Billy Crystal, Anna Faris, Paris Hilton, Cameron Mathison, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Ricki Lake, and Anthony Hopkins.
Evacuations were carried out to ensure the safety of thousands of residents, among them being Green’s former “Beverly Hills, 90210” co-star Jennie Garth. After fleeing her home, Garth, known for her role as Kelly Taylor on the series, took to social media to share an emotional update, revealing that she and her family sought shelter at her ex-husband Peter Facinelli’s residence.
Garth expressed gratitude for their safety, detailing their ordeal and expressing thanks for making it through the night unharmed. The actress, who shares daughters Luca, Lola, and Fiona with Facinelli, emphasized feeling blessed amidst the tragic circumstances and extended her appreciation for the support received.
With investigations ongoing to determine the cause of the fires, the community faces a challenging road to recovery following the extensive damage caused by the natural disaster. Despite the losses suffered by many, stories of resilience and unity have emerged as individuals come together to aid those affected by the wildfires.
As Brian Austin Green reflects on the survival of the iconic 90210 house amid the chaos of the Los Angeles fires, the enduring spirit of hope and the cherished memories associated with the legendary TV series serve as a beacon of light amidst the darkness of tragedy.
