The highly-anticipated Harry Potter series on HBO continues to make waves as it adds nine talented actors to its star-studded ensemble. In a recent announcement on June 9, the streaming platform revealed the names of the latest cast members who will be bringing beloved characters to life in the upcoming series, set to be a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s iconic books.
Among the notable roles that have now been filled are Molly Weasley, Draco and Lucius Malfoy, and the infamous Dursley family, consisting of Petunia and Vernon Dursley. Additionally, Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge and Hogwarts students Parvati Patil, Seamus Finnigan, and Lavender Brown have also found their new stars to grace the screen.

The cast of the Harry Potter series continues to expand, with a talented lineup that includes renowned actors such as Katherine Parkinson, Lox Pratt, Johnny Flynn, Bel Powley, Daniel Rigby, and Bertie Carvel. These actors are set to step into the shoes of well-known characters from the wizarding world, each bringing their own unique interpretation to the roles.

Rivals star Katherine Parkinson will portray the matriarch of the Weasley family, Molly Weasley, a role famously portrayed by Julie Walters in the original film series. Joining her are Lox Pratt and Johnny Flynn, who will play Draco and Lucius Malfoy, respectively, taking over from Tom Felton and Jason Isaacs. Bel Powley has been cast as Petunia Dursley, while Daniel Rigby will bring Vernon Dursley to life on screen.
In addition to the adult characters, the Hogwarts student body will also see some fresh faces. Leo Earley, Alessia Leoni, and Sienna Moosah have been cast as Seamus Finnigan, Parvati Patil, and Lavender Brown, adding depth to the magical world of Harry Potter.
The recent round of casting follows the announcement in May that the series had found its lead trio. Dominic McLaughlin will take on the role of Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton will portray Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout will bring Ron Weasley to life. Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer Mark Mylod expressed their excitement at finding the perfect actors for these iconic roles after an extensive search.
In addition to the core trio and new cast members, several other key roles have also been filled. John Lithgow will play Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer will embody Professor McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu will take on the role of Severus Snape, and Nick Frost is set to portray gamekeeper Rubeus Hagrid, adding depth and talent to the series.
With the addition of these new cast members, the Harry Potter series on HBO continues to build anticipation and excitement among fans. Each actor brings their own unique interpretation to the beloved characters, promising a fresh and captivating take on the magical world of Hogwarts and beyond.
As the series gears up for production, fans eagerly await the opportunity to see their favourite characters brought to life once again in this highly-anticipated adaptation of the beloved wizarding saga.
