Hollywood icon Angelina Jolie recently shared some insights into her children’s disinterest in following in her footsteps to pursue acting careers. Speaking at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the 49-year-old actress revealed that none of her six children with ex-husband Brad Pitt have shown a particular “affinity” for the world of movies.

Jolie, who was honored with the Maltin Modern Master Award at the Festival, expressed her desires to expose her children to the film industry, hoping they would embrace creativity and artistry. However, she admitted, “They’re not interested. They really don’t like any of the celebrity part of it, especially Shiloh hates it.”

The Eternals actress emphasised that her children, ranging from ages 16 to 23, have found their own connections to the art of film in various forms. While some enjoy dancing, painting, and theatre, none of them are eager to step in front of the camera.

Despite their reluctance to act, Jolie mentioned that her children have been involved in filmmaking behind the scenes. Her sons, Maddox and Pax, assisted with directing on the set of Maria. Pax also delved into photography work, while her daughter Vivienne co-produced a Broadway production alongside her mother and worked as a production assistant—a role she took quite seriously.

Reflecting on the importance of giving her children the space to discover their passions, Jolie stated, “I hope I’m giving them space to figure out who they actually are and something that they want to live for that’s authentic to them so it holds in their life.”
