Ashley Johnson, known for her role as Chrissy Seaver on the popular sitcom Growing Pains, recently shared insights about her time working with Leonardo DiCaprio on the show. During an episode of Pod Meets World released on June 2, Johnson, now 41, recalled her early entry into the entertainment industry. She first caught the attention of a talent scout seeking child performers for Star Search when she was just 5 years old. Her journey led her to join the cast of Growing Pains as Chrissy Seaver, a character she portrayed during the final two seasons of the series.

Johnson fondly remembered the welcoming atmosphere of the established TV family she joined, consisting of actors Alan Thicke, Joanna Kerns, Kirk Cameron, Tracey Gold, and Jeremy Miller. She described her time on the show as a heartwarming beginning to her enduring acting career.

In the show’s last season, DiCaprio was introduced as Luke Brower, a homeless teen who became a part of the Seaver family.
