The mural, titled “Mambas Forever,” painted by Los Angeles-based artist Sloe Motions, was initially vandalized in April before being restored and defaced once again. The artist, whose real name is Louie Palsino, shared with KNBC-TV that he is looking to relocate the installation. Reflecting on the situation, Palsino mentioned that they aim to collaborate with another business or foundation to bring the artwork to fruition at a new location, with all costs covered by the artist to the new venue.

Adjacent to the figures are the words “Mambas Forever,” encapsulating the enduring legacy of the basketball legend and his daughter. After the initial vandalism, Palsino initiated a GoFundMe campaign to aid in the restoration process, and the fundraiser received a significant donation from Lakers star Luka Dončić, who contributed the entire $5,000 goal.
Luka Dončić expressed his support for the mural’s restoration by stating, “Kobe is L.A. He and Gigi mean so much to this city, to the Lakers organization, and to me personally.” The basketball player reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the tribute to Kobe and his daughter is maintained. Meanwhile, Palsino lamented that the acts of vandalism not only deface his tribute to the basketball icon but also impact Bryant’s enduring legacy and the inspiration he provided to youth.
